What people are saying about Mawambo

Philip Goelet, PhD

CEO & President Evobiotics, Acidophil; Partner, Red Abbey Venture Partners

“Annastasiah brings positive and high energy to the projects and organizations she engages with. The diversity of the subject matter to which this drive has been targeted is equally striking. A natural adventure leader.”

Martin P., MD., PhD

Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, Leading Health System

“It has been great knowing Annastasiah these 17 years, since she was a graduate student. In that time I have had the pleasure of seeing how nimbly she has been able to negotiate different highly technical areas at the interface of biomedical science and business. I remain most impressed by how Annastasiah helped us start our first company, which was a great challenge for us as academics. I’d like to thank her for her reliability, unusually high capacity for hard work, judgment and the sound advice she has continued to provide over the years”.

John B. PhD

former Sr Vice President, GSK; AI Drug Discovery Expert; Founding Chairman, AAIH

“I thank Annastasiah for all her efforts since the inception of the Association. It would not be where it is today without her incredible effort and focus. I also add this personal thank you for her patience and agility in dealing with me. I don’t know how she did it but Annastasiah created some semblance of order out of some rather embryonic concepts and images”.

Bob Bollinger, MD

Global Health and Infectious Diseases; Co-Founder eMOCHA

“I have also had many opportunities to witness and benefit from her incredible leadership, strategic vision, passion and professionalism. She has been particularly brilliant at establishing and building highly productive public-private partnerships that require leveraging and balancing complexities and diverse opinions. I have met and worked with many good people over the years. But, her talent, experience and impact have been truly unique. Annastasiah has been essential to the success of many important projects.”

Mark A. Cochran, PhD

Executive Director, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Johns Hopkins HealthCare Solutions

“Thanks to Annastasiah’s early work, leadership and vision in advancing this program to the marketplace, it is now used by multiple large-employer clients serving more than 100,000 employees and with great reviews”

Drew Pardoll, MD., PhD

Director of the Bloomberg Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, Johns Hopkins Medicine

“I was highly skeptical about the whole project but Annastasiah, through force of energy and vision, convinced me – and importantly the Hopkins faculty and leadership – that this project could truly transform medical diagnostics. In all her work at Hopkins, Annastasiah worked on behalf of the investigators and the vision to produce tangible results, even when most felt they could not be achieved. These characteristics built a trust and admiration on the part of her faculty that endures to this day”.

Naheed Kurji

CEO, Cyclica; Executive Officer, AAIH

“I had the privilege of co-founding and working closely with Annastasiah at the AAIH where I also served Board Member, and Executive Officer. During our time together, I was impressed with how well she coordinated amongst various internal and external stakeholders to ideate, implement, and rapidly evolve an organization to become a thought leader for the responsible application of artificial intelligence to the broader healthcare industry. Annastasiah was tireless in her efforts to build the AAIH into the organization that it is today, and her devotion to the cause and resilience in the face of challenges were her strongest attributes. Her peers hold in high regard, her energy is contagious, and her charisma when communicating AAIH is unparalleled”

Johan Van Helleputte

Retired Sr Vice President Strategic Development, IMEC

“I have experienced Annastasiah as a very intelligent, open minded, hardworking, resourceful, results driven and very loyal counterpart and partner. A driving motivation of Annastasiah’s commitment is the societal impact she can have with her work and her deep conviction about the high leveraging effect of combining technologies and models of cooperation, such as nano-electronics researchers, medical researchers and clinicians jointly working on a high medical need solution. She has a natural ability to bring around the table people of very different backgrounds and to enlighten a common enthusiasm and drive. Next to her professional expertise and thoroughness, as a profoundly knowledgeable person, she is also a very kind and stimulating person to work and to discuss with. It is a really nice experience to have her as a partner and engine for a joint project of high value and impact. I always deeply enjoyed working with her."

Alex Zhavoronkov, PhD

Founder and CEO, Insilico Medicine; Co-founder, AAIH

When I proposed the need for an AI consortium to Brandon Allgood in 2017 it was just an idea. But when Annastasiah joined the effort, AAIH was born. She was the first general manager and organizer of this consortium who brought together many competitors and partners, pharma companies, and academics. She introduced the formal structure, defined the goals, set up the committees, and pretty much singlehandedly turned it into a leading industry organization. We pre-launched it together in Basel in September 2018 and then formally launched at MedTech Showcase in January 2019. It was the largest launch event during the JP Morgan with over a thousand preregistered delegates. With an undergrad in chemistry, a PhD in molecular medicine from Johns Hopkins, and years of business development and licensing experience in large and small organizations, Annastasiah was the perfect catalyst for AAIH to come together. Annastasiah understands both the AI and the pharma aspect and knows how to balance the power and make business happen.
